Longer lasting batteries that charge in a fraction of the time

Inhabitat reports on new variant of lithium-ion batteries that can seemingly charge to 70% in two minutes. The batteries are also slated to have a much longer life cycle – perhaps 20 years. The researchers, based in Singapore, have modified existing technology, using titanium oxide gel – which speeds up the charging process, making the battery last 20-times longer and charge 20-times as fast than traditional lithium-ion batteries.
